The claims unit operates under a contract
with the Victim Compensation and Government Claims Board in Sacramento.
The program reimburses eligible crime victims for losses incurred as a

bonds, penalties, and special assessments paid by federal and state
criminal offenders. No taxpayer dollars are used to fund the Victim
Compensation Program. The unit is
comprised of two claims specialists and one legal office assistant.
