Many Tulare County residents gathered on May 1, 2009 to view the Victims’ of Homicide Memorial Quilt at the Holiday Inn in Visalia. The squares of the quilt were individually designed by the families of the victims to commemorate the life of their loved one. Each square was then sewn onto the quilt by volunteers.
The memorial quilt is unveiled each year during National Crime Victims’ Rights Week. The project is sponsored by the Tulare County District Attorney's office, and has honored more than 200 homicide victims and their families since 2000. Click below for an enlarged view of each square.
