On September 24, 2011, Roger David, age 46 of Visalia, was arrested by
the Tulare County Sheriff's Department for assaulting the victim with a
knife and threatening to kill her while a witness was present. During
the investigation, a sawed off shotgun was found in a laundry basket in
the master bedroom.
December, 14 2011, a jury trial concluded and Roger David was found
guilty of one count of assault with a knife, one count of criminal
threats, one count of possession of a short barreled shotgun, one count
of felon in possession of a firearm, and two counts of misdemeanor child
endangerment. Additionally, the special allegation that Roger David was
out of custody on bail or his own recognizance at the time of the
crimes, was found to be true.
Roger David also had a pending possession of a stolen vehicle case,
therefore, on January 23, 2012, the Honorable Judge Brett Alldredge
sentenced Roger David to serve a total term of 6 years and 4 months in
state prison.
This case was prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney Ruth McKee. It was
investigated by Deputy Richard Morley of the Tulare County Sheriff's
Department and Gregg White of the Tulare County District Attorney’s
Office Bureau of Investigations.
