Woodlake Man Found Guilty of Child Molest


On May 5, 2011, in the Visalia Division of the Tulare County Superior Court, a jury found 28-year-old Phillip Anthony Trujillo of Woodlake guilty of two counts of forcible lewd acts upon a child under the age of 14 and three counts of lewd acts upon a child under the age of 14. The jury also found true special allegations accompanying all counts alleging substantial sexual conduct and multiple victims.

The crimes occurred between 2000 and 2002 when the victims were seven and twelve.

The Honorable Judge Gary Paden set June 2, 2011 as the sentencing date. The sentencing will be heard in Department 11 of the Visalia Division of the Tulare County Superior Court. The defendant is facing 75 years to life in prison for these crimes.

The case was prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney Matthew Darby and investigated by Detective Rodney Klassen of the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department, as well as Investigators Brandon Hall and Roselyn Aguil of the District Attorney’s Bureau of Investigations.
