Today, the Honorable Judge James Hollman sentenced Ceceilia Marie
Balboa, of Porterville, to 120 days local custody, and five years formal
probation.
Investigation uncovered that, between March 2008 and June 2008, the
defendant fraudulently received cash aid and food stamps for herself and
her three children. Balboa failed to report her income and the fact that
she was actually working. Balboa fraudulently obtained $6,673.00 and was
ordered to pay it back, in restitution to Health and Human Services
Agency.
This case was investigated by Gloria Garza of the Tulare County District
Attorney’s Office Bureau of Investigations, and prosecuted by Deputy
