On August 17, 2010, a 2006 Nissan Armada was stolen during a residential burglary in Earlimart. The vehicle was equipped with “Lojack” which is an auto theft recovery system. Investigators with TRATT (Tulare County Regional Auto Theft Task Force) were able to track the vehicle to the Delano area with the assistance of the Lojack system. Upon locating the vehicle, a traffic stop was conducted and four juveniles from Earlimart were arrested for burglary and auto theft. All four were booked into the Tulare County Juvenile Hall.

To achieve it’s goal of reducing vehicle theft within the County of Tulare, TRATT conducts surveillance in high theft areas, serves outstanding felony arrest warrants for suspects wanted for vehicle theft and related crimes, seeks out possible “chop shop” operations by conducting business inspections, and conducts probation and parole searches of persons previously convicted of vehicle theft.
