Farmersville Woman Arrested for Grand Theft and Possession of Stolen Property


On Sunday, May 2, 2010, the Tulare County District Attorney’s Rural Crimes Unit arrested 42-year-old Rafaela Torres, of Farmersville, for grand theft and possession of stolen property. Torres was arrested from her home.

The arrest came after investigators conducted an equipment theft detail in a rural area east of Tulare.

Torres was booked into the Tulare County Jail. The County Sheriff's Department and Farmersville Police Department assisted the District Attorney's office in the investigation.

The Tulare County District Attorney Rural Crimes Unit is a specialized unit dedicated to the development of new and more effective techniques for addressing agricultural related crime. The primary goal of the program is to provide property protection for farmers and ranchers by vigorously investigating and prosecuting all suspects involved in rural crime.
