On April 23, 2010, investigators of the Tulare County District Attorney’s Workers’ Compensation Fraud Unit arrested Maria Antonia Cuevas, 53, of Visalia, on two counts of Insurance Fraud. The investigation revealed Cuevas fraudulently obtained over $10,000 in workers’ compensation benefits from her employer, George Brothers, Inc. of Sultana.

Cuevas was transported to the Bob Wiley Detention Facility where she was held on $30,000.00 bail.

The District Attorney’s Workers’ Compensation Fraud Unit is a specialized grant funded unit focused on the investigation and prosecution of individuals who defraud the California Workers’ Compensation system.
