Michael Huber Sentenced to Eight Years in Prison for Molesting Two Girls

On October 27, 2009, Tulare County Superior Court Judge Gerald Sevier imposed a prison sentence of eight years on 42-year-old Michael Kevin Huber of Visalia for sex crimes committed on two girls. One girl reported that Huber forcibly touched her in 2000. At the time she was 15 years old when the crime occurred in Porterville. The more recent crime occurred in Visalia. The victim reported being fondled while she slept. She reported her assault in 2009 when she was 13 years old.

The defendant pled no contest to one count of forcible penetration of a foreign object and one count of lewd acts on a child under the age of 14. As a result of the plea, the defendant is now convicted of two strike offenses and will be required to serve 85% of that sentence before being eligible for parole. His parole can last up to five years. The defendant was also ordered to pay a $1,000 restitution fine, to register as a sex offender under Penal Code section 290, and to provide DNA samples under Penal Code section 296.

This case was prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney Bethany M. Gilliland and investigated by the Porterville Police Department and the Visalia Police Department.
