On September 15, 2009, Judge Kathryn T. Montejano imposed a 7 year state
prison sentence on 60-year-old Marcus Dail White of Ogden, Utah for
felony domestic violence resulting in great bodily injury and criminal
threats.
On July 2, 2009, White got into an argument with his girlfriend when she
refused to allow him to move into her home. White took her phone from
her when she attempted to call for help and punched her in the face
numerous times. He then struck her in the head with a glass bottle,
causing her to fall to the ground. When she tried to stand up, the
defendant grabbed a second bottle and struck her in the head again.
During his attack, the defendant threatened to kill both the victim and
himself.
The victim, after being attacked, begged White to take her to the
hospital so she could be treated for her head injury. Eventually, he
drove her to the hospital. The victim received twelve stitches to her
head.
On July 30, 2009, White pled no contest to felony violations of Penal
Code section 273.5(a), infliction of corporal injury on a girlfriend,
with a special allegation for infliction of great bodily injury, and
Penal Code section 422, criminal threats.
This case was prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney Erika Ziegenhorn
and investigated by Officer Wheeler of Visalia Police Department.
