JEFFREY HILL SENTENCED TO LIFE WITHOUT PAROLE FOR MURDER

On May 29, 2008 Judge Gerald Sevier sentenced Jeffrey Allan Hill, 31, of Visalia to Life in Prison Without the Possibility of Parole for murder. On April 21, 2008 a jury found defendant Jeffrey Allan Hill guilty of first degree felony murder, first degree robbery, first degree burglary, felon in possession of a firearm, and possession of methamphetamine. In a bifurcated court trial on April 28, 2008 Judge Sevier found to be true the special allegations that the defendant suffered a prior strike conviction and a prior serious felony.

Victim Danny Davidson of Visalia was killed in his home on March 14, 2006. Mr. Davidson was in his residence in southeast Visalia when the defendant broke into his home. The defendant was armed with a loaded shotgun and he confronted Mr. Davidson in an attempt to rob him. Mr. Davidson attempted to fight back but was overpowered by the defendant. The defendant beat Mr. Davidson and then bound his hands behind his back with zip ties. While Mr. Davidson lay on the floor the defendant ransacked the bedroom. Two of Mr. Davidson’s friends arrived at the house, interrupted the defendant, and discovered that the victim had been killed. The defendant fled and was found hiding in an irrigation canal in the area few hours later. He was identified as the person who had been seen running from the house with a shotgun. Property that belonged to the victim and the shotgun were buried in that irrigation canal as well.

The defendant received a total of 5 years and 4 months in prison for possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of methamphetamine. He also received Life Without the Possibility of Parole plus fifteen years in prison for murder. He was ordered to pay a $10,000 restitution fine, a $100 court security fee, and was ordered
to provide buccal swab samples, a thumbprint, a palm print, and a blood sample pursuant to Penal Code
section 296.

This case was prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney Afreen Kaelble, and investigated by Sergeant
Randy Lentzner of the Visalia Police Department and Barry Silva of the District Attorney's Office Bureau
of Investigations.
