MAN SENTENCED FOR REIGN OF TERROR

Rampaging boyfriend’s reign of terror ends. Today, in Tulare County Superior Court, the Honorable Judge Daryl Ferguson sentenced 45-year old Marty Glenn Allen from Visalia to 35 years to life in prison.

On August 1, 2005, a jury found Allen guilty of first degree residential burglary, felony vandalism, misdemeanor vandalism, and disturbing the peace for incidents occurring in Visalia in 2004.

Allen was previously convicted of assault with a deadly weapon in 1987 and two felony counts of dissuading a witness in 1990. The judge imposed the life term under California’s Three Strikes law because Allen displayed a history of using violence to control and intimidate his victims stretching all the way back to his earlier convictions.

On August 21, 2004, in the early morning hours, Allen showed up at his girlfriend’s residence in Visalia and vandalized her car. Several weeks later on September 14th, Allen returned and forcibly entered his girlfriend’s home and caused over $10,000 worth of damage.

This case was investigated by the Kevin Grant of the Visalia Police Department and prosecuted by Tulare County Deputy District Attorney Jennifer Nichols.
