The last few years
have been a time of unprecedented growth and achievement for the
Office of the Tulare County District Attorney.
More than 20
prosecutors were added
to the
criminal division staff. Programs were launched in the areas of fraud,
child abuse, career criminals, gangs, sexual
assault and domestic violence, elder abuse as well as agricultural
crime. The ACTION Project has become the national center for ag crime
information and innovation. New programs targeting assaults on peace
officers and improving community life through our community prosecutor
program were initiated. At the same time, we were victorious in 100
percent of our homicide cases. Overall conviction rates for felony
prosecutions were in the range of 95 percent, which placed your District
Attorney's Office among the ranks of the top offices in the state. In
virtually every arena, we continued to enhance the reputation for
excellence enjoyed by the Office of the Tulare County District Attorney
and its staff, and to successfully meet the challenge posed by a
burgeoning felony caseload.
As the age of the
information superhighway unfolds, your District Attorney's Office
recognizes the vast potential for utilizing the Internet as a tool to
disseminate information to the citizens of our great county. Our
office's Community Awareness, Prevention, and Education (CAPE) Program
is designed to provide a means of reducing crime while at the same time
improving the delivery of services to Tulare County. This web page is
part of that effort.
It is our hope that
this web page will serve you, the people we represent, by allowing you
to get to know us better, by providing useful information about the
programs we offer and the efforts we are making on your behalf, as well
as making our legal system more understandable. |
